1- RénoRégion

The RénoRégion program offers financial assistance to low-income owner-occupiers living in rural areas when they carry out work in their residence.

The grant is awarded for work that aims to correct major defects. RénoRégion can reimburse 95% of the costs (limit of $20,000).

The eligible works are for the repair of the following elements:

2- Partial tax refund for major renovations

It is possible to obtain a maximum refund that corresponds to 36% of the GST paid and 50% of the QST paid if:

  • You are building a home or having it built.
  • You are buying from a builder a plot of land and a new home or a plot of land and a home that has undergone major renovations.
  • You are carrying out major renovations or having them carried out.

The grant is equivalent to 30% to 45% of the contractor's bill.

The Home Adaptation Program (HAP) provides financial support to homeowners of a home occupied by a person living with a disability to carry out work so that they can live in a safe environment adapted to their daily activities.

6- Renovation and Restoration of Heritage Buildings

The city of Laval provides assistance to owners of heritage buildings or owners of buildings of heritage interest or calvary or roadside crosses. This support is for renovation and restoration work on the interior, exterior and structural components of a building. In addition, the renovation costs must be a minimum of $500 and the grant corresponds to 50% to 100% of the eligible costs.
