If you would like to know a little more about this unique area and community:

Dunany is located in Canada's Laurentian Mountains, 10 km north of Lachute, and about an hour away from Montreal, Quebec.

It is a small, tight-knit lakeside community within the Municipality of Wentworth.

The community is organized around the Association des résidents de Dunany (ARD), founded in 1963. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors and built around three pillars: the residents' association, the Dunany Country Club (golf), and St. Paul's Anglican Church. The association's primary mission is the protection and improvement of the environmental quality of its four lakes.

The community centres on four small, non-motorized lakes: Lac Clair, Lac Boyd, Lac Black, and Lac Curran. All four are classified as oligotrophic (very healthy, low-nutrient lakes), and the association actively monitors water quality and works to protect them from invasive species.

The estate has a strong community spirit with year-round activities including an annual golf tournament benefiting St. Paul's Church, summer lake excursions, an annual artists' exhibition, a cycling club, and winter events such as Winterlude.

The area was settled primarily by Irish immigrants in the early 1800s. Some of the original farmsteads and properties have fascinating histories, including the nearby Parkes House at 1001 Chemin de Dunany, which traces back to one of the earliest settler families.

It's a very private, nature-oriented community, ideal for buyers looking for tranquility, lake life, and a strong sense of neighbourhood.
