Lakes and Boating: The Municipality confirms that access to or rights of way for the lakes in St-Jean-de-Matha are private, including Lac Vert and Lac Vachon near the property. The exception is Lac Noir (public), which is accessible to St-Jean-de-Matha residents and non-residents alike via the municipal boat launch located near the Albert-Chartier Bridge on Route 131. Subject to all reservations, Lac Noir is the only lake in Saint-Jean-de-Matha with public access for launching boats only. Swimming is not permitted at this location, as it is a boat launch. There is no municipal beach in St-Jean-de-Matha. However, you may swim from your boat on the water. Washing all watercraft is mandatory, whether motorized or non-motorized (kayaks, paddleboards).
