However, the demolition and reconstruction project of the main building must comply with all the other applicable standards (% of natural space, building/land ratio, setbacks, etc.). It is important to specify that the Government of Quebec has tightened, in recent years, the standards governing requests for minor exemptions by prohibiting the approval of such a derogation that relates to a standard that aims, among other things, to protect the environment (e.g., % of natural area not respected = no minor exemption may be authorized).
